I'm in need of a computer. How do I apply to receive one?
Unfortunately we only donate computers through our nonprofit community based partners.
Do the computers come with a warranty?
TechFIN will replace computers that fail within one year of its deployment.
I have MacBooks I would like to donate. Will you accept them?
Currently we only accept Windows machines.
Do you accept laptops and desktops?
Yes, we accept both laptops and desktop computers.
My computer doesn't meet your specification, can I still donate it?
No, thank you.
I have some old computer hardware that I don't need, can I give them to you?
Accessories (mouse, keyboard, power cords, monitor cords) are always welcome. Please ship them to us or drop them off at our office. Please email us at email@example.com before you come.
My computer (almost) meets your requirements, but it is not working, can I still bring it in?
No, thank you.
Do I need to get licenses for the software?
No, but your name will be attached to the license that comes with the computer.
Do you help with computer set up?
No, but it does come with an instruction manual.
Do the PCs come with other hardware?
Yes: mouse, keyboard, monitor, and the necessary cables.
How is the performance of the PCs? Can I use this for gaming?
Good enough to support schoolwork, online classes. Insufficient for high end gaming.
Do you accept computer hardware donations from individuals?
Yes, if they meet our specification requirements and if the donor is willing to drop off their unwanted PC based machine at our office. We apologize for these hurdles but we are unable to cost effectively address our mission statement otherwise.
Are my donations tax deductible?
Yes. TechFIN is a registered 501c3 organization and all monetary and computer hardware donations are tax deductible.
I represent a nonprofit organization that works with low-income families in need of computer hardware. How can I partner with you?
